Put Klamath back in KID!

Article: Mallams Ignores Upper Basin Water Regulations

July 24, 2016 by KIDRecall

Mallams flouts upper Basin water regs

In this September 10th, 2015 article in the Herald and News, reporter Lacey Jarrell reports on Klamath County Commissioner Tom Mallams’ violations of calls to end his pumping and the tactics he used to avoid receiving messages from the Oregon Water Resources Department.

This story shows the lengths Commissioner Mallams went through to avoid getting the letters served to him, and his willingness to violate OWRD’s call for water for senior water rights (such as the ones KID has), in which his junior water right required him to shutoff his well.

Commissioner Mallams is represented by Nathan Reitmann, who was also retained by the Klamath Irrigation District for legal counsel. Reitmann’s representation of Mallams for these violations puts him in a conflict of interest.
